OUR HISTORY

GoDaddyStudioPage-0 333.png

For 73 years, Mt. Olive Church Bk has stood as a pillar in the community, established by the visionary late Bishop Chesi Purvis. His deep commitment to serving those in need and the mentally challenged led to the creation of the impactful Mt. Olive Adult Home, providing vital food and shelter.

After Bishop Purvis' passing in 1999, the mantle of leadership was passed to Pastor Margaret Heath, a woman who led with remarkable grace, compassion, and love, ushering in a period of flourishing for the church. Fifteen years ago, Bishop Dora McAllister, a dedicated member for over 40 years alongside Pastor Heath, took the ministry to new heights.

In March 2025, the church welcomed Pastor Sheree Thomas, a daughter of Mt. Olive, as its new Lead Pastor. Carrying forward the foundational vision, Pastor Thomas is supported by the dynamic leadership of Pastor Belinda McAllister and AP Marcella Smith.

Together, with the strength of its members and partners, Mt. Olive Church Bk is poised to expand its reach and impact for generations to come.
